CaddieAI is built to respect your privacy. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. This policy explains the small amount of data the app uses, who it's shared with, and what never leaves your phone.
The short version
- When you ask for conditions, your location is used in that moment to fetch weather — and is not stored by us or tied to your identity.
- Your clubs, yardages, and home baseline stay on your device. We never receive them.
- We don't collect your name, email, contacts, or any account information. We have no servers that store your data.
- We don't use analytics, advertising, or trackers of any kind.
Location
When you tap Use Current Location, CaddieAI reads your device's location. When you search a place, you provide the place name instead. In either case, the coordinates are sent to the third-party services listed below so the app can return the current weather, elevation, and nearest city for that spot.
Your location is used only to fetch conditions at the time you request them. CaddieAI does not store your location history, does not track your movement, and does not link your location to your identity. Location access is while-in-use only — the app never uses your location in the background.
You can allow or deny location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services on your device. If you deny it, you can still enter conditions manually or search for a place by name.
Information stored on your device
Your club distances and home-course baseline are saved locally on your device so the app remembers your setup between rounds. This information is stored only on your phone, is never transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app.
Third-party services
To return live conditions, CaddieAI sends location coordinates to the following services. It shares only what's needed to answer the request — coordinates or a place name — and no personal identifiers.
Open-Meteo
Provides weather, elevation, and place search. See the Open-Meteo terms & privacy.
BigDataCloud
Converts coordinates into a nearest-city name. See the BigDataCloud privacy policy.
These providers may process the request in accordance with their own privacy policies. CaddieAI does not control, and is not responsible for, their practices.
Data we do not collect
CaddieAI does not collect or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or any account credentials. It contains no advertising, no analytics or measurement SDKs, and no third-party trackers. Because there is no account and no back-end server operated by us, there is no personal profile to sell, share, or breach.
Children
CaddieAI is a general-audience golf utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
All requests to the services above are made over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because your setup data never leaves your device and we operate no servers that hold your information, there is no central store of your personal data to protect.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
